EdTech Resources and Tips: This weeks recap!
If you haven’t caught on to the Twitter trend of #web20wednesday, it’s the perfect opportunity to share new web 2.0 tools you’ve found, you use, you love, and share it with other EduTweeple! (and PS it’s on Wednesdays!)
Our first resource suggested was Diigo. With Diigo, you can organize and bookmark online links, make notes, highlight and add sticky notes. Then, build your PLN by sharing your pages, finding others with the same interest and sharing. You can even create groups (private or public) and share your findings to the group.
And guess what?
As an educator, you can get a free Diigo account that is specifically for K-12 & higher-ed educators. Diigo educator accounts additional gives you student accounts for your entire class, students can automatically set up Diigo groups, add privacy settings for student accounts, and more. A big hit last week was resources for recording screen captures. We got a few recommendations from @myPTA and @icmcwaffle for Camtasia, Screencast-o-Matic, and Jing! All free – all easy to use. I personally use Jing here at SimpleK12, and I love it. It’s so easy.
Creating slideshows is another great way to incorporate technology in the classroom. PhotoPeach (thanks @chickensaltash) and Animoto are two free and super easy tools to use. With both you can upload your photos, add comments, music, and sound-effects!
Until next time on #web20wednesday!
