Social Media Guidelines – From Business, but Great for the School Community Too

Cool and timely article from Chris Lake on econsultancy. Even though it’s about how large organizations use social media, here are some of my favorite tips that the various companies offer:

  • Don’t pick fights, and be the first to correct your own mistakes (IBM).
  • It’s a conversation. Talk to your readers as you would talk to anyone in a professional setting. (Intel).
  • Be external. You don’t always have to talk about yourself. Retweeet! (Kodak)
  • Be real (Zappos)

So, what do you think? How do you act in the social media world? Leave us your comments and add to the discussion.
