Start the New Year With These Tech Tools

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you’ve enjoyed your holidays and are ready to start the New Year with some awesome tech tools!

First one up – Odosketch! I have to admit, on first glance, I thought it took photo’s that you upload and made them sketches, but in fact it does not. It’s literally a blank canvas that you use your mouse to create sketches! You can change colors, erase, reload, or really whatever you like to do! It’s super easy (I definitely tried it out!) – so get Odosketch here. And special thanks to Freda (@fredawilliams) for this great link!

I just started using Wisestamp last week and I absolutely LOVE it. Wisestamp is an add-on to your browser that allows you to spice up your email signature. You can use it for any webmail service, and you can have multiple signatures (personal, business, etc…) Thanks to Jenni (@gurnage) for this great tool!

The next resource comes from Kelly (@ktenkely). Math Snacks are animated videos and games that can help students understand math concepts a little bit easier and have fun doing it! And guess what? There are even print materials attached to each math snack that can help the learner in applying the concepts even further! Awesome! Thanks, Kelly!

This next resource came from Melinda (@icmcwaffle) and I am IN love with it. Sixty Symbols – a collection of videos about the symbols of physics and astronomy. Now, when you go to the website, you’re just going to see a bunch of symbols, BUT if you click each one, it pops up a video that has information, pictures, etc specifically about that topic. Awesome! Thanks, Melinda!

Apture makes adding multimedia to your website easy! You simply download the plugin, upload and link your content (not just video, folks! PowerPoint, PDF, Word, etc…), and voila – it adds it all in one easy step. For an example, go here and click “Zhou dynasty” - awesome! Big thanks to Rash (@rashkath) for this great tool
