Teach with Video: Student-created Digital Video Projects in Your Class – FETC 2010

Steve Katz is ALL about teaching with technology, and specifically with video! He explains in his philosophy that “technology is a tool, not a subject and curriculum (& tools) are mastered when work is meaningful and engaging.” Steve also adds that “teachers must be comfortable with the tools before teaching them.” Watch this short interview to see what Steve says about his FETC presentation.
I attended Steve’s session myself, and I loved it. His students are so creative, and it just goes to show that the possibilities are endless when you give them the freedom to be creative! But it’s also important, as teachers, to learn the tools yourself first.
Steve gives a lot of great examples on his site so, don’t miss that link at the bottom. Steve also shared a great resource, VideoSpin, which allows you to easily create videos, add photos, music, add titles and transitions, edit, etc... Looks a lot like iMovie for the PC!
